Giving Back in Honor of Norah

As we embark on Norah's one year "angelversary," I have been racking my brain trying to think of a few things we can do to honor her memory.  Do we have a birthday party?  Do we release balloons?  Do we visit her at the cemetery?  What do we do?

We will actually be traveling to CT to visit my sister and family on November 26, but leading up to that day, we are asking friends and family do one of the following things to honor Norah.

1.  Share Some LOVE with your community--

1 Cor. 16: 13-14 "Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong.
And do everything with love."

Do something nice for someone.  Pay for the person behind you in the drive through line.  Rake someone's leaves.  Volunteer at a food pantry or donate canned goods.  Take a meal to a family in need.  The possibilities are endless!

2.  Share Some JOY with other grieving families--

Romans 15:13 "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

Send us donations of BABY scrapbook supplies--paper, stickers, small 4x6 photo albums.  These will be donated to St. Anthony's Hospital Infant Loss Program and to Mercy Heartprints to make angel baby books for other grieving families.

3.  Share Some PEACE with families who need support--

Matthew 11:28-10 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Make a donation to Nurses for Newborn's. (http://www.nfnf.org/index.php) Nurses for Newborn's mission is to provide a safety net for families most at risk; to help prevent infant mortality, child abuse and neglect through home based programs that provide education, healthcare and positive parenting skills.

Nurses for Newborn's has a need for baby formula, baby food, diapers, etc.  You can order directly from their Amazon wishlist, and these items will be donated directly to their facility in St. Louis.

Please help us honor our daughter by giving back to someone else.   We would love to hear how you have done that!

Feel free to email me at elizabethacook@sbcglobal.net with your stories and generosity or for how you can donate.

For us this isn't about monetary donations, it is just about how to share some of that beautiful human spirit with someone else!
