Last Wednesday evening, Greg's grandpa passed away at 93. He has been sick for over 16 months. We were all kind of just waiting for it to happen and know that he is much better off, but it is still hard! He was really a wonderful, Christian man. I feel so blessed that I was able to know him for the last 7 years. Both of my grandpa's died before I was born, so he kind of filled that grandpa void in my life.
He accomplished many things in his 93 years of life, but I think he would have been proudest of the fact that he was married for 64 years, raised two great daughters, had three successful grandchildren (and one grandchild-in-law) and got to see his great-grandaughter's first two years of life. He left a legacy for us--taught us how to serve our community and our God, how to be a great husband, father, and grandfather. I truly believe he is sitting up there with Jesus right now, and Jesus is patting him on the back saying "Carleton, you lived a good life and followed me all along the way."
