Maggie's Eyes...

Well, we survived our first surgical experience. I think it was much harder for Greg and I than for Maggie! Friday was a very long day, but Maggie came out of her eye muscle surgery very well. Now we just wait for the swelling to go down and hope that she does not need another!

We woke her up at 5:20 a.m. on Friday because she had to be done eating by 6:00 a.m. The surgery was not scheduled until 2:00 p.m., so we knew the day would be long. But I have to say that all our worries about how she would do were unnecessary now that we look back. She actually even took a 2 hour nap from 10-12 and then we headed to the hospital. Our good friend Michele was working at Children's on Friday, so she kept us company while we waited for them to take her to surgery. The surgery lasted about an hour and she was back in our room sleeping for a good 45 minutes after. She woke up pretty fussy and upset, but Saturday morning she seemed almost back to normal. Her eyes are pretty red, but she is doing a great job of not rubbing them. We go back to see the doctor on Thursday and then the waiting game begins. Hopefully in a month or two we will notice her not turning her head as much. We feel greatly blessed by all the thoughts and prayers!
